Registered Agent Requirements

The registered agent must be either (1) a resident individual of Louisiana, (2) a business corporation, (3) a partnership or professional law corporation with authority to transact business in Louisiana or (4) a foreign corporation with authority to transact business in Louisiana and whose articles or certificate of incorporation authorize it to act as the corporation’s registered agent. Louisiana requires that every corporation maintain a registered office in this state, which will be considered the Louisiana corporation’s domicile for all purposes.
