December was a good month for small business in terms of hiring. According to SurePayroll, hiring was up in the month of December — that marks only the fourth month in 2006 that it was. However for 2006 overall, small-business hiring decreased by 0.2% in 2006. Another positive note was the finding that small-business salaries ended in 2006 up 7.4%.
Heading into 2007, SurePayroll finds that many small business owners report remaining concerned over finding qualified labor and are citing a shortage of labor.
