This week has been set aside to honor small busines owners and employees by President Bush who issued the proclamation on the eve of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s observance of National Small Business Week in Washington, D.C. (April 23-24), which honors the nation’s most outstanding entrepreneurs and culminates with the selection of the National Small Business Person of the Year for 2007.
From a White House press release, President Bush is quoted as saying:
âEvery day, our nation’s small businesses help enhance the lives of our citizens and lead the way in an economy distinguished by low unemployment, sustained job creation, and one of the fastest growth rates of any major industrialized nation,â? the President said in his proclamation. âSmall businesses are the lifeblood of cities and towns across the country, and we salute small business owners, entrepreneurs, and employees for enhancing our communities and expanding opportunities for all. The hard work and ingenuity of our nationâs small business men and women are helping to sustain Americaâs economic strength.
