Today, employee productivity is high on most employer agendas. Unfortunately, high productivity can often lead to employees that are overworked and stressed, which in turn can lead to burnout – another, more serious issues, in and of itself.
What can you do to keep your employee productivity levels high without sacrificing the well-being of your employees? Here are a couple of suggestions:
- Give them greater control over their job. Studies have shown that increasing employee control improves employees’ ability to handle their workload without compromising their productivity.
- Keep them in the loop. Be sure that you communicate to your employees any changes in the company and what your expectations of them are.
- Practice flexibility. If an employee makes a reasonable request, grant it. They will focus better knowing that their problem has been solved.
