- Personal charisma – You simply look better and are treated with greater respect when people know you are a business owner. It does not always matter whether you run a big corporation or just a small shop. A business owner is a business owner.
- Gaining experience – By starting and running a business, you will gain a lot of valuable experience. Managing, proposing and closing deals, and marketing – these are only a small part of the variety of things which you can improve your skills in. This freedom of experience has two benefits: In case you decide to end your business and return to a conventional job, you can add “Business owner” to your resume, which is a very valuable asset to a potential employer. Additionally, you will also be more respected at your new job, because you will be known as a seasoned, smart businessperson. The second benefit comes in handy when you decide to start another business. You will be able to handle difficult situations with greater deftness of skill, and you will also feel more comfortable because you simply know what to expect and how to do it – from incorporating your business to accounting and filing tax returns.
