According to this code, any natural person thinking of becoming an independent contractor driver as opposed to being an employee of a transportation company licensed by the department to transport passengers within Clark County for compensation will be required to obtain a business license.

There is a specific process through which you can apply for a Nevada business license for Lyft or Uber in Clark County. The process is as under:

Step 1: Go to the Clark County Website

The first step is to visit the “Drivers – Independent Contractors” page of the Clark County Website. This is where you will find all information pertaining to applying for business licenses for Uber drivers in Nevada. You have the option to download a printable Clark County business license application form or you can apply online.

Step 2: Confirming your Region

If you have opted for the online application then you have to confirm the region you will be operating from as this will help determine the licensing jurisdiction of your business. If you will be operating in Clark County then you need to confirm your region as a place where your business is located within the region or as providing services within an unincorporated Clark County.

NOTE: It is important to note that Clark County comprises 6 jurisdictions with an independent licensing agency in each of these jurisdictions. The jurisdictions are City of Henderson, City of Las Vegas, City of North Las Vegas, Boulder City, City of Henderson, and Unincorporated Clark County.

Step 6: Review & Pay

The final step is to review the information provided by you. If you are applying online then you can make changes or edit applications. If all information is correct then submit the Clark County business license application along with a fee of $70.00, which includes an application fee of $45 and an Annual license fee of $25.
