The National City Small Business Confidence Index shows that the confidence of Midwest small business owners climbed in December. Holiday sales played an important role in the index climbing from 70.1% in December from 69.7% in November. Several business sectors, including appliances, games, sporting games and apparel, realize one-quarter of their annual revenues during the November and December period. The National City Small Business Confidence Index measures attitudes of small-business owners in Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Missouri.
