The St. Louis Business Journal is reporting that Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri has relaxed small business requirements for those small businesses interested in enrolling in group health insurance plans. Businesses with 26 to 50 employees will no longer be required to have 50% of total eligible employees enroll.

A recent Blue Cross Blue Shield surveyed showed that approximately 75 percent of uninsured Americans work for small businesses and nearly 50 percent of small-business employers do not offer health-care benefits, many because of the eligibility requirements.
