ABC News is reporting that over $12 billion worth of small-business contracts from the federal government has been awarded to big businesses including Microsoft, AT&T Corp., Northrop Gunman and Rolls Royce.
Some Democratic lawmakers are asking why and how this happened and are calling for an investigation. Republicans are contending that small businesses often outgrow their small-business status after receiving federal money. However, others aren’t buying this argument. After all, Microsoft and AT&T haven’t exactly qualified as a small business for some time.
