A recent survey by Aquent Marketing Staffing of Chicago found that the number of people who are now considering “temporary work” instead of full-time employment with a single employer is on the rise. The reason? More and more people are hoping to achieve a better balance between their work and personal lives, and they are willing to make some sacrifices to get it. Seventy-one percent of the 1,500 surveyed stated that their workplace’s inflexibility was compeling them to consider “trading income for job flexibility”.
On the flip side, companies are also reaping the benefits of hiring temporary versus permanent employees citing increased workforce flexibility. Employers find that it provides them with the opportunity to work with quality professionals with the traditional constraints of hiring someone full-time.
