The SurePayroll Small Business Scorecard Business for March 2007 found that business owners continue to hire new employees and pay higher salaries. In fact there was a 47 point increase in the index from the previous month.

While the pace of salary increases appears to be slowing, salaries are still increasing. The average small-business salary nationwide is now $31,791. That’s the highest average salary recorded since the inception of SurePayroll’s economic indicators in January 2004.
