Reducing Stress Levels

Today, employee productivity is high on most employer agendas.  Unfortunately, high productivity can often lead to employees that are overworked and stressed, which in turn can lead to burnout – another, more serious issues, in and of itself.

What can you do to keep your employee productivity levels high without sacrificing the well-being of your employees?  Here are a couple of suggestions:

  • Give them greater control over their job.  Studies have shown that increasing employee control improves employees’ ability to handle their workload without compromising their productivity.
  • Keep them in the loop.  Be sure that you communicate to your employees any changes in the company and what your expectations of them are.
  • Practice flexibility.  If an employee makes a reasonable request, grant it. They will focus better knowing that their problem has been solved.
